A rotary table, sometimes called a CNC Rotary Table, is an automated high precision modeling system specifically designed for woodworking. This machine allows operators to drill or cut various materials at very precise speeds using a variety of different tools. They can perform both boring and drilling operations. Manual operation is usually combined with magnetic damping because it provides for a more accurate and precise operation. Magnetic damping only controls the rotation of the machine and does not affect any movement of the materials or the indexing of the material. This feature is usually found in high-end products such as precision machining parts. CNC rotary tables are also manufactured for industrial, commercial, and other non-commercial applications requiring high-performance operations.

The two main types of CNC Rotary Tables are the ones that mechanically turn the shaft on the table and the ones that have a motor that do it through the use of an electrical motor. The type of motor used is determined by the work area or the type of product being made. CNC rotary tables can be used for a variety of operations such as drilling, grinding, turning, bending, piercing, honing, etc. These are just some of the operations that can be performed using rotary tables.
